| The order of the books of the Bible came about by the domination of two governments who controlled the religions of their people. The Old Testament was arranged into several orders according to each faction within Israel during 700-70 B.C. The New Testament was arranged by Rome, who commissioned Jerome to take the Bible of the believers in Jesus the King, and translate it into Latin, which they did not speak, and re-arrange the book order forcing the common people to rely totally upon Roman government to have access to the revelation of Jesus the Messiah. This Roman plan was designed to take the written text of the believers faith from them, and force them to rely on Rome for faith and practice for all future generations. Anyone who resisted this, would be in violation of Roman law and be jailed or put to death for treason. This plan presupposes an interesting claim upon which to vindicate itself since Rome was a kingdom on earth ruled by a King, and Jesus of Nazareth was and is a King of Israel who was killed as one guilty of treason on a Roman cross. Why would the Jewish King command His enemy King to guard His revelation decree? I think you can see the problem with this premise provided by Rome. You see, there is no way Jesus the King would have another rule His people, in His stead. This simple fact is hardly ever brought up by religious teachers, Bible teachers, and Bible educational works writers. I won't get into the complete subject at this time, this was provided to cause you to think in basic reasoning, which is, Jesus is the King of Kings, and there is NONE who is over Him and no kingdom whom he commissioned in His stead to guard His kingdom or revelation. The biblical books as we know them resulted from a designed plan from an enemy king and nation, which attempted (and to a large degree succeeded) to change the way another King's people read His revelation. Six hundred years later the arrangement is totally accepted as the only Bible people use, at which time, the addition of chapter markers, and then verse markers, cause the "Library of Jesus' Revelation" to be referenced more easily. The system of the library format was then complete. God's basic design could only be understood if the reader would not abandon the basics of reading an old writing; locating the processes of progressive revelation and literary context contained within the writing. Rome understood this fact and planned to counter it with law. Rome planned for people to struggle with the foreign arrangement and uncommon language, to the point where they would rely on Rome to manage their relationship with Jesus and His revelation. This plan also addressed the people who rebelled against Rome. The thinking was, the new arrangement would compete against the older standard arrangement (which was the natural order by reason of the N.T. books arriving one by one over a period of 60 or more years) exhausting the majority This competition combined with Roman law prohibiting the use of the older common greek scriptures (handed down from the Apostles and their believers), would eventually force the abandonment of the original New Testament used for the last 285 years Was there a library for this writer to access with Rome's name on it? Did he suffer from not having the Roman library you have? DId the readers of the New Testament during 100 - 385 A.D. have "The" N.T? God designed and caused one writer after another to use the same exact simple system. A man (who was waiting on God) God inspired to write from his own place in life, truths only God could have provided. Each writing was protected by God within the writer's national society, and passed on in that national setting and context. The plain simple system of reading an authoritative decree designed to reveal a King's revelation to His people is most simple and honorable. It was purposed to provide reason and truth by which the reader could be saved by the King himself. To be faced with being completely separated from the King's kingdom for eternity; or read and comprehend an invitation to become a citizen of "The King of Kings." The King directly caused the creation of a written revelation using one of the people's own kind and environment, placed the revelation in the most base personal setting possible. By devising this method and medium, the King has ensured that no matter what nation, era, language, or religious background, anyone can have access and understand; having a "base form" which all people can relate to easily is a plan that can not be improved. This was the first system you used to learn first truths to live by in your life, God understood this and adopted it also, knowing you would find it most natural and basic. | Roman domination is an accepted "State" which all Bible readers assume was part of the inspiration of God, or His plan, and it is most certainly not. This is nothing new, Satan has always been free to attempt to manipulate man's efforts to preserve God's revelation, but in the end because of the system of God providing His revelation in a literary written context arriving in a step by step, writer by writer order, has secured His truths for all The next considerable challenge is recognizing within the written text of each book, the writers literary context and his order among the other biblical writers. Training yourself to read a collection of writings older than 2000 years, means you must remove your influence, ideas, assumptions, and adhere to objectivity. The Bible reader today needs to remember just the basics when reading. First, don't expect to know it all on the first read, instead expect to re-read many times over the next 50 years. Second, chose a new translation but prefer the oldest one of the newer ones. As in the NKJV or NASB or NIV. By far these are more credible and reliable. Third, read the entire Bible book all the way through in one sitting. To do this you will need to let the parts go that you don't understand. Make notes of the passages which really attract your attention. Read without letting your assumptions and feelings influence you, read objectively. You are not a part of the writing and God is NOT providing you with meaning in a spiritual experience of some sort Reading the Bible in literary context is where the Spirit of God will meet you. Fourth, Don't use religious influences and commentaries to speed things up. Instead limit your outside sources to reference works which provide you the information needed to span the time gap of 1900 years or more. Fifth, As you read, note all information about the person writing and other biblical writers he knew of as he wrote. Also all information regarding time and era nationally. Sixth, develop the writer's position. Attempt to take on the author's place at the table when writing. Become familiar with the difference in your world and his world. Transform yourself back in time to his day. Use extra biblical works to do this, Seventh, don't worry if you can't seem to keep your attention on a part of a book, keep reading on. By reading on to the next book, you will learn what you need to understand the parts which were senseless to you previously. The biblical writers reviewed, and reemphasize previously written about information, so just rely on that fact. |
